Birklands House is a newly
renovated 1870s ex farmhouse situated on the A6
between Carlisle and Penrith, just 1 mile from
the M6, junction 42 . It is a convenient stopping
place en-route for Scotland and is ideally
situated for day trips to the Lake District
National Park, Hadrians Wall, Carlisle,
Carlisle Races, Gretna Green, the Solway Coast
and the Settle-Carlisle railway.There is ample on
site parking for cars and motor-cycles and secure
storage for push-bikes.
With just two guest rooms we have
been able to create a wonderful home from home
for you to enjoy. The en-suite bedrooms have
kingsize beds, there are remote controlled tv/dvd
with teletext, iron and board, hairdryer, radio-alarm
clock, and beverage tray. Bed linen is top
quality and the towels are beautifully soft and
sparkling white. A selection of films on dvd is
provided for your entertainment.
There are separate tables in the
breakfast room and the comprehensive menu
includes free-range eggs, locally made sausages
and homemade bread, and preserves. Vegetarians
are well catered for as are other special diets
if prior notice is given.
